Processing Work Items

A work item is a business process comprised of one or more tasks, each of which is assigned to a role (one or more participants). Work items are processed by completing tasks. Once all mandatory tasks are completed, the work item is sent to the next activity in the process. The participant assigned to the role for the next task must then process the work item, or, alternatively, assign it to another person.

To process a work item:

  1. To display a list of work items, in the left pane, click a view name.

  2. To process a work item, in the right pane, in the Activity column, click the Process Work Item button for the work item.

  3. When prompted, enter the required information for the work item.

  4. To add a note to the work item, in the Task toolbar, click the New Note button. In the New Note dialog box, enter text for the note and click OK.

  5. To add an attachment to the work item, in the Task toolbar, click the New Attachment button. In the New Attachment dialog box, specify a file for the attachment, enter a description and any remarks for the attachment, and then click OK.

  6. To complete the task for the work item, click the appropriate button.

Note: To process work items when displaying work item details, in the Task section, click the Process Task button for the task you want to process.
